Location: Cusco District, Cusco Province, and Cusco Region.

Distance from Downtown Cusco: 7,9 kilometers via Don Bosco - 25 minutes by car; 6,l kilometers - l hour and 30 minutes on foot.

• Occupying an area of 437 square meters, Tambomachay is located near the Puca Pucara Site. The main attraction of this site is its beautifully built water fountains. Some researchers believe that this was a temple to worship the water as well as a lodge/spa where the Inca king was able to relax and rest. This site is also known as the "Baños del Inca" (lnca's spa) .
• The architecture used in Tambomachay to build this perfectly engineered water system is impressive. The main water cascade receives water from another 2 cascades, whose waters fall at the sorne rate and volume. As of today, the origin of this water source is still unknown. Also, the site is composed of three Andean terraces, the highest one having an Inca wall which is 15 meters long and 4 meters tall.
• Tambomachay is included in the City Tour offered around Cusco, which also includes a visit to the Cathedral, the Qoricancha Temple, Sacsayhuaman, Puca Pucara, and Qenqo. The sites included in the City Tour should be included in all itineraries. When buying the entrance ticket (BTC or BTP), verify the number of sites you would like to visit, and based on that, purchase either the partial or the full ticket. Tickets for only this site are not available for sale.
• The Tambomachay Site is the starting point of the Huchuy Qosqo Trek. This trek connects Tambomachay with the ancient site of Huchuy Qosqo via the small village of Patacancha. From Huchuy Qosqo travelers can continue their journey to Lamay Town or Lake Piuray in Chincheros. The hike to Lake Puray can be challenging at some times when done in 2 days, but landspcapes are well worth the effort.
