Location: Pisaq District, Calca Province, and Cusco Region.

Distance from Downtown Cusco: 33 kilometers vio Sacsayhuaman Site - l hour by car.

• The Pisaq Archaeological Park, located on top of a mountain in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, was originally a small city, which included houses, temples, storage rooms, agricultural terraces, plazas, a cemetery, and similar structures.
• This is an astonishing site with an incredible distribution of Andean terraces perfectly built a long the mountain, occupying about 9,063 hectares. The highest buildings and temples offer a beautiful view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
• The Town of Pisaq is located at the bottom of the mountain. A hike from there to the top of the mountain takes about l and a half hours. This is a tough hike, but the landscape rewards the effort. When visiting this site, travelers should include a visit to the town, where the most popular marketplace of Cusco is  located, and eat the local "Empanadas."
• The regular Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour, offered around Cusco for about USD l0.00, includes a short visit to the Marketplace of Pisaq and the Archeological Parks of Pisaq and Ollantaytambo. Usually, these tourist attractions get very crowded when the tour operators arrive. The Pisaq Archeological Park gets quite busy between l0:00 am and 2:00 pm.
• When buying the entrance ticket, verify the number of sites you would like to visit, and based on that, purchase either the partial or the full ticket. Tickets for only this site are not available for sale.
