Location: Imata town, District of San Antonio de Chuca, Province of Caylloma, Region of Arequipa

Distance from Lima Downtown: 144 kilometers - 2 hours and 30 minutes by private transportation

• This natural attraction is located at the kilometer 154 of the road that connects the regions of Arequipa and Puno. Once at this mark, there is a 1 kilometer dirty road to reach the waterfall of Pillones.
• At the kilometer 154 there is a small basic cabin where a local serves food and sells goods.
• At the waterfall it is possible to fish wild trouts, but you must get permission from locals before doing so. 
• The Imata stone forest is located only a few kilometers away.
• This is a volcanic area; therefore, there are also a few natural thermal pools to relax.
• The ancient cave paintings of Sumbay are also located in the area.
• In one full day, travelers could visit the stone forest, the Sumbay caves, the thermal pools, and the waterfall of Pillones. If you would like to visit all these sites, you should be in good physical shape and used to the high altitude of these attractions. 

• Travelers must bring a good sun screen, sun glasses, and adequate clothing for cold temperatures. During the day is usually very sunny, windy and cool. After 15:00 hours temperatures start going down drastically (nights are always below freezing conditions).
