Humans hove lived in the Region of Ica for a very long time. Several buildings and temples built by early Peruvians are proof of their existence and customs. The people of Paracas, Nasca,and Chincha developed a great knowledge in textiles, ceramics, and engineeringtechniques to get the best use of the limited amount of water existent in the orea.

Nasca Lines

Travelers can only take a flight to view the most popular Nasca Lines from above or visit the tower located on the Panamerica Sur Highway to observe a couple of the Nasca Lines.

Location: The majority of lines are located in the Districts of Nasca and El Ingenio in the Province of Nasca. Some lines were also made in the Province of Palpa.

Culture & Time Period: The Nasca Lines were scratched on the surface of the ground between 500 B.C. and 500 A.D by the Nasca people.

Distance from Lima Downtown: 423 kilometers - 5 hours and 30 minutes by private transportation.
