One of the most remarkable symbolic elements in Ollantaytambo’s landscape, is the rock carved in the shape of a human face, situated on Mount Pinkuyllun and which would represent Tunupa; a deity of the Colla nation. He was considered as nature’s supreme creator and was worshipped as a hero and civilizing master.
In that gigantic 140 meter sculptural representation, which evidences and legitimizes TUNUPA’s myth, were set the iconographic features with which this cultural hero was identified.
For that reason, we decided to choose that name, given TUNUPA’s qualities with which our company identifies itself.: innovation, teaching, leadership, strength and courage; taking our gastronomy to transcend borders and shaping good experiences in our guests memory.
