Location: 34 kilometers northwest of Puno, District of Atuncolla, Province and Region of Puno.

Distance from Puno Downtown: 34 kilometers from downtown Puno - 45 minutes

• The Sillustani archeological site is located next to Umayo Lake and occupies about 60 has, however, the most important and attractive funerary towers are located in a small area  (no more than one kilometer square) .
• Sillustani offers a great picture of the building procedures implemented by the people who settled in this area throughout hundreds of years. It is believed that the most important existent towers belong to the Tiahuanaco, Collas, and Inca civilizations.
• Umayo Lake provides a beautiful  view  of  the  area  and  the "Altiplano" (Andean plateau). The view during sunrise and sunset is breathtaking.
• Due to the high altitude, temperatures are usually low, and appropriate attire should be brought for the hike. Also, travelers should bring comfortable shoes (tennis shoes or hiking boots) as well as a hat and sunscreen.
• Sillustani is among the most interesting attractions in Puno, but it is not popular among foreign travelers due to its location and limited time most travelers have to visit this region.
