Location: Quehue District, Canas Province, and Cusco Region.

Distance from Downtown Cusco: 161 kilometers - 3 and a half hours by car.

• This is the only Inca bridge that is still in use in Peru. During the second week of June of every year the locals of four Andean Communities get together to remove the existent bridge and make the new ropes that are going to be used to build the new one. They still put in practice the same techniques used by the Inca people more than 500 years ago.
• Locals no longer use this bridge to cross the Apurimac River since there is now a metallic bridge used for this purpose. The bridge is only used for educational purposed and visitors are allowed to cross it all year long.
• A visit to this Inca site can be done in one full day and it can be combined with a visit to the Andahuaylillas Colonial Church, or a visit to the Raqchi, Tipon or Pikillacta archaeological sites.
• Some tour operators offer a bike ride experience to get down to the Inca bridge while enjoying all the beauty of the Apurimac Canyon. This site can be also combined with a visit to the Vinicunca or Rainbow Mountain in a two day journey.
• The nearby town of Quehue offers basic accommodations for tourists so they can experience the Andean way of living.
