• The Pre-Colombian Art Museum is located where the Convent of Santa Clara operated during Colonial times. Later on, don Luis de Cabrera y la Cerda acquired the house. In 1981 the "Banco Continental" purchased the place and rebuilt it to restore its Pre-Colombian and Colonial construction and characteristics.
• The "Museo de Arte Pre-Colombino" is the first and only museum in Peru exhibiting the art created by early Peruvians throughout Peru. Since 2003, this museum has been exhibiting hundreds of pieces of ceramics, gold, silver, and jewelry in general made by the ancient civilizations existing in Peru during the last 3,000 years.
• The Pre-Colombian Art Museum has in total 10 galleries exhibiting pieces of art created by civilizations such as the Nazcas, Mochicas, Wari, Chimu, and Incas. Among these 10 galleries, it is possible to find galleries dedicated to work made out of wood, seashells, bones, silver, and gold. This is an obligated stop for all art lovers.
• Inside the museum area there is a popular coffee shop in Cusco known as the MAP Café, which is open from 11:00 to 22:00; as well as a bookstore; a jewelry store; and an alpaca store.
