  • Days: Every day of the week (The park shouldn't be visited during the rainy season, which goes from December to March.)

    • Acjanaco Zone (Validfor 1 Day): S/. l0.00 per adult and S/. 3.00 per child from 5 to 16 years old (Peruvian Soles)
    • Pusharo Zone (Valid for 5 Days / 4 Nighls): S/. 50.00 per person (Peruvian Soles)
    • El Limonal Zone - Cuenca Baja del Río Manu (Valid for 1 Day): S/. 75.00 per person (Peruvian Soles)
    • Cuenca Río Manu Zone (Valid for 5 Days /4 Nighls): S/. 150.00 per person (Peruvian Soles)

Location: District of Cosñipata, Province of Paucartambo, and Region of Cusco

Distance from Cusco Downtown: 280 kilometers by truck and 120 kilometers by boat - ll hours by truck and 8 hours by boat.

  • Travelers should get a yellow fever shot before heading to the National Park Manu (at least l0 days before visiting the park). Also, the use of a powerful insect repellent is highly recommended through out the day.
  • The entrance to the park is strictly regulated by the Peruvian government and travelers can access the park only with an authorized localtour guide.
  • This is one of the most diverse parks inthe world with 5,000 species of plants, 221 species of mammals, 1,025 species of birds, l00 species of reptiles, 210 species of fish, 1,307 species of butterflies, among others.
  • Humans hove occupied the Manu for hundreds of years. (In the park, the petroglyphs of Pusharo and the Mameria Ancient Site haven't been studied yet .) Nowadays, sorne groups live in small organized communities such as the Matsiguenkas, Nahuas, and Yoras, while others are nomads who move around in search of food. These are vulnerable people who shouldn't get in contact with travelers since a common flu can easily kili them.
  • The rainy season starts in December and ends in March. The best time of the year to visit the Manu is from April to November.
