Location: It starts in the hillside of the Chachani Nevado at the point known as "Las Antenas," District of Cayma, Province and Region of Arequipa.

Distance from Arequipa Downtown: 60 kilometers - 2 hours and 30 minutes by private transportation

• This ride is mainly done off-road with about a quarter of it done on asphalted road; therefore, good biking skills are needed.
• The ride starts at a high-altitude level with high winds and cold weather conditions even though it is sunny. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a jacket, and appropriate shoes are needed for this ride.
• All tour companies in Arequipa offer a mountain bike, safety equipment, helmet, knee and elbow guards; however, it is important to verify the condition of the bikes, brakes, and tires (especially) before departing.
• Many travel agencies do not operate this tour directly, and once a traveler books the tour, the traveler is signed in with an actual biking tour operator. Even though prices are usually the same, it is important to ask who will be the operator of the tour.
