• The Larco Museum is probably the most popular museum among travelers who visit the city of Lima. The museum offers more than 5000 years of the ancient history of Peru with artifacts and remains that are proof of the connection between pre-Colombian civilizations and the natural world.
• The museum's collection was started by Rafael Larco Hoyle and he managed to collect about 45,000 pieces after starting his own scientific research and excavations mainly in northern Peru.
• This is the first museum in Latin America to electronically catalogue its entire collection. This was first done in 2001 and then in 2008 it was udated to make it easier for researchers to get data.
• There are in 15 exhibition rooms in the museums which can be visited in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The museum has a restaurant that offers a taste of the best Peruvian and international cuisine in a beautiful location.
• The Larco Museum is usually not included in the standard Lima City Tour; however, several tour operators offer a visit to this museum as part of their itineraries.

• The busiest time of the day goes between 10:00 and 13:00 hours; therefore, it is better to avoid this time frame to visit the musem.
• Travelers are allowed to take pictures without flash and tripods.
• Travelers are not allowed to access the exhibition rooms with backpacks, bags or suitcases (there is a storage room on-site).
