• One and a half hours is usually needed to visit all rooms. The tour is guided in English, but you need to wait until there are enough people to form a group (around 14 people).
• The Convent and Church are an exhibition of art in its architecture and works of art. There is art as old as 400 years (painting from Italian artist Angelino Medoro).
• The Colonial Catacombs are part of the exhibition and are located below the Convent. These Catacombs were built between 1657 and 1672 and were closed in 1821, when Liberator Jose de San Martin ordered the closure of all catacombs. The Catacombs remained hidden until 1947, when they were studied and later on opened to the public. The Catacombs hold around 25000 human remains. 
• The San Francisco Church connects with the convent and catacombs. This is one of the first churches built in Lima and it is a display of amazing pieces of art (pulpits, sculptures, and paintings). 
• A City Tour in Lima should be included in all travel itineraries to Peru. All city tours include a visit to the Convent of San Francisco & Catacombs.
