Location: Main Square of Cusco, District of Cusco, Province and Region of Cusco.

Distance from Cusco Downtown: It is located in the Main Square - 0 minutes by private  transportation.

• The area where the temple was built was assigned to the Catholic congregation known as Jesuits back in 157l. During the Inca era, an important temple, known as "Amaru Cancha," was built on the same land.
• The original temple was severely affected by the 1650 earthquake and the remains had to be demolished. The current building, built a ter the earthquake around the end of the l600s, has the shape of a Latin cross.
• This impressive building is probably one of the best expressions of Andean Baroque style in Peru and South America. Several pieces of art can be observed inside the building. Also, the balconies offer a nice view of the Main Square and surroundings.
• "La Compania de Jesus" Temple is included in the Baroque Route Tour offered in Cusco. This tour also includes a visit to the "San Pedro Apostol of Andahuaylillas" Temple and two other small temples. If extra time in Cusco is available and architecture and art are part of your interests, this tour should be booked.
