My Peru Guide Regions My Peru Guide’s site focuses mostly on five of Peru’s regions or departments (known in the U.S. as states), which are located in the central and southern parts of the country (Arequipa, Cusco, Ica, Lima, and Puno.). All of these regions boast a rich history, a wide variety of landscapes, flora and fauna, different customs, and the best of Peruvian food. (Please note: This site also provides information regarding other regions of interest, such as Mdre de Dios, La Libertad, Lambayeque, and Tumbes.) In order to fully experience Peru, every traveler should attempt to visit the five regions listed above. However, since in many cases your allotted time will not allow you to visit all five regions during one trip, you will have important decisions to make. The question is which regions would appeal most to you. The answer can be found in this site. Highlights about these five regions are below.
