Since these provinces were severely damaged and the local and central governments were not able to provide the help needed, several non-profit tourism-related organizations arranged expeditions to travel to theoreas and help locals recover physically, clean the remains of their houses, and build new ones. At present these expeditions still take place,mainly in the Provinces of Chincha and Pisco.
